Lance Murphy was born and raised in Queens, New York. He began his musical development on the clarinet at age seven and transitioned to the saxophone at thirteen, which marked the beginning of his affinity for jazz. Following his formal education, he performed with numerous ensembles and subsequently formed his own group, appearing throughout the New York City area and internationally. Over time, he pursued diverse musical opportunities, consistently returning to his passion for jazz.
Currently, Lance integrates his life experiences and musical background into his compositions and arrangements. Proficient on the clarinet, flute, piano, and all saxophones, he seeks to provide a compelling auditory experience in each work. His debut album, Free to Love, features Clarissa Sinceno on vocals.
